Our head brewer at the Bend Public House crafted this big, malty Scotch ale last year for a pub release, and we agreed that it would be an excellent base beer to lay down in oak. This particular release was aged in a first fill rye Whiskey barrel, which imparts a pleasant spicy nose that complements the caramel malt favors of the base beer.
