I’ve been patiently (okay, NOT so patiently) for a decent NA dark beer. I wasn’t being picky. Any nice malty porter or stout or even a brown ale would do! I’m just not an IPA sort of guy. Descutes hit a home run with their NA Black Butte Porter, modeled after their classic version, hits all the right notes on my palette. Never mind that I had to mail order it all the way from the brewery in Bend, OR, because I can find it locally. I ponied up for a case and will definitely be reordering! Descutes hit a home run on this one! Thanks.

Of all the NA’s I’ve tried this is by far the closest to the original version. It’s really hard to find locally. I was shocked that I could get it shipped to my door for a reasonable price. Thanks Deschutes!

I’ve recently made the decision to cut back on my alcohol consumption. Not eliminate entirely, just cut down. I love the Black Butte Porter and I have it in my frig. The n/a version stands shoulder to shoulder with the full alcohol version and I love both of them and the n/a allows me to enjoy my BB Porter without the calories or alcohol. This is the best dark NA I’ve had by miles. Maybe the best NA period. But it’s also heads above a lot of normal dark beers. Like, between this and some established stouts and porters, I’d probably take this. The depth of flavor is incredible, and worth every penny.
